The Halachic Organ Donor Society is an educational organization that attempts to increase organ donation from Jews to the general population. Nishmat's Women's Online Information Center is a community service of Nishmat- the Jerusalem Center for Advanced Jewish Study for Women. The website provides halachic and medical information about taharat hamishpachah and women's health. The rabbinic advisor to this site is Rabbi Yehuda Herzl Henkin. The medical advisor is Deena Zimmerman, MD, one of the first graduates of Nishmat's Keren Ariel Institute to be certified as a Yoetzet Halacha. The Alisa Flatow Memorial Scholarship Fund is dedicated to the memory of Alisa Flatow, a 20 year old student studying in Israel killed in a terrorist attack in near the settlement of Kfar Darom on April 9, 1995. Alisa was in Israel to study her religion and to live among the Israeli people. The Fund has been established to encourage others to follow in Alisa's footsteps by studying Judaism at schools in the State of Israel. |
