The Schlesinger Institute is a research and teaching institute in the field of Jewish Medical Ethics. Through the scholarship and expertise of leading rabbis, physicians, and jurists, the Institute aims to: research halachic issues that emerge as medicine progresses; provide facilities as a resource center for health care professionals, students and general public; acquaint professionals and the public with the important interaction between Medicine, Ethics and Halacha.

Conferences:
The Schlesinger Institute organizes conferences in the fields of Medicine, Ethics, and Jewish Law. Conferences are intened for the professional community of Medicine, i.e. Physicians, and also to the interested public. The conferences are most often topic based and deal with a variety of issues such as: AIDS; Alzheimer's Dementia; Infertility and Abortion; Cystic Fibrosis and Emphysema; Death and Euthanasia; Fertility; Genetics; Mental Health; Organ Donation and Transplantation; & Lifesaving and Quality of Life.
