שאלה:

Last Shabbat the Rav in the shul spoke about organ donation and the halachic issues and history relating to it.  I perused Vol. I to III of the Medical Ethics but only found reference to recipience of donated organs in Vol. I,  but not the donor aspect of the issue.  Has this matter been dealt with in Assia and where, and in English by chance.  Are there on-line references as well?

Regarding organ transplants from the living – there is a detailed discussion of the issues pertaining to the donor, in the following article: Organ Transplants from Living Donors , JME Book Vol. I, pp.407-426 (2004); JME 2,1 pp.29-37 (1991).
Regarding these issues (pertaining to the donor) in a transplant from the deceased, there is material in the Nishmat Avraham (English version, Artscroll Mesorah pub. 2004, Vol. II, pp. 342-345) and the Encyclopedia of Jewish Medical Ethics (English Version, Feldheim Pub. Jerusalem 2003, Vol. III, pp. 1096-1098).
