Male Infertility

This session is devoted in its entirety to a subject of great importance, from both the medical and halachic points of view, that of male infertility. In recent years this subject has come to occupy a significant position in every medical debate involving infertility in general. On the halachic level, too, there are experts today who are involved in the Torah aspects of the treatment of this sensitive problem.

I was pleased to see that the organizers of the Colloquium have in effect managed to cover all aspects of this subject, and have invited this country's leading experts in the field.

Professor Binyamin Bartov, Director of the Laboratory for Male Infertility at Bar-Ilan University, will open the medical discussion. Our second speaker will be Dr. Mordechai Halperin who is both Director of the Schlesinger Institute and Director of the Medical Center for Impotence and Infertility in Jerusalem. The weighty halachic questions involved will be responded to by Rabbi Daichovsky, a senior Dayyan of the Supreme Rabbinical Court of Jerusalem.
