207. At nightfall after the Sabbath, it is still forbidden to do any work until one has recited havdalah either during the shemoneh esreh prayer or on wine or at the very least by reciting: "ברוך המבדיל בין קודש לחול". Thus a patient, whether man or woman who is unable to pray at the termination of the Sabbath, should say ברוך המבדיל" "בין קודש לחול without mentioning God's name.
209. A hospitalized female patient should try and listen to a man reciting havdalah for himself. If this was not possible, she may recite havdalah herself, without mentioning God's name and without reciting the blessing "בורא מאורי האש", and drink the wine.
210. A patient who did not recite havdalah at the end of the Sabbath or did not hear it recited by someone else, may do so until sunset on Tuesday evening (without the blessings for spices or for the light of a flame), if there was no possibility of doing so before. If he did not recite havdalah at the end of the Festival or did not hear it recited by someone else, he should make havdalah as soon as possible but not later than sunset the following day. Regarding Yom Kippur see paragraph 261.
211. The blessing "בורא מאורי האש" may not be recited on an electric light.
212. A blind person does not recite the blessing on light for himself or for others even though they do have benefit from the light. There are opinions however that a blind person should not make havdalah except for saying "אתה חוננתנו" during the shemoneh esreh prayer. It is therefore best if he were to hear havdalah from someone who is reciting havdalah for himself.
