Celiac In Pesach

[DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_SOCIAL_ICONS]

הרב המשיב: Rabbi Meir Orlian

שאלה:

I live in Jerusalem. I am 40 years old. I was recently diagnosed with celiac and was instructed not to eat any breads (chametz or other). what can I do for Pesach?

תשובה:

f you were medically diagnosed, you should follow doctor's orders. [It is possible (though unlikely) that he may permit a small quantity, the minimum for the seder, especially since you were only recently diagnosed.]
However, there is gluten-free oat matzah available, which can usually be eaten by celiac patients.
It can be purchased (if still in stock) at health stores, such as Nitzat Haduvdevan (see picture below).
Additional contacts  are: hillel.leib@matzaman.co.il at matzaman.co.il.
also 077-901-5645 (don't know name).
Some of these contacts may even have hand made (if you want).
Wishing you a refuach sheleimah and a chag Kasher v'sameach,
Meir Orlian
