We spent a wonderful week together on the ship from Rome several weeks ago and the Sheila came up if Yechidim can make Kriyat Hatorah at Mincha with a Brocha.
You showed me that there are those that say that the Brocha would be L"vatola since there is no Chiyuv for Yechidim.
Two Poskim, Rav Blum from Clevland and Rav Motel Katz our Dayan in New York, quoted from a Mase Rav by the Talmidim of the Chasam Sofer, that he came ones from a trip with two other people and he made the Kriyas Hatora with a Brocha by Mincha.

Thanks for your interesting source. In my future lectures I shall use it. Halacha L'maase, I still think that a responsum written by the Netziv from Volozin (שו"ת משיב דבר חלק א סימן טז ד"ה נחזור לענין) outweighs a story written by Talmidim, especially when we lack many details about the story of the Chasan Sofer.
