I am a medical student and we are currently learning about the endocrine and reproductive systems. We have come across the cases of testicular feminization
A local Rabbi suggested that I contact Rabbi Abraham with the following halachic medical question.
i am a married grandfather that unfortunatly has to travel out of the country for my work. Lately, due to the economy and cost of international airline tickets i can only afford to travel home to be with my wife about once every six weeks.
of course this long physical seperation from my wife if extremely difficult for me, but I manage. However, to make matters more difficult, i have recently developed a prostate infection.
My doctor of course put me on antibiotics but also said that i should "keep emptying" my prostate which would help releive the pain as well as speed up the healing.
Unfortunately, due to my work situation I cannot have relations with my wife for the next month or so. As a result I have been very uncomfortable and in pain (it is usually not an acute pain but more like an occaisional cramp)
Under these conditions is one permissible to masturbate as my doctor recommended?

I'm sorry but masturbation is not permissible in these circumstances. Try and get your off into other things such as learning Torah
