יא. סיכום
לאור כל האמור לעיל ניתן לסכם כי המצאת הגלולות למניעת הריון היתה פריצת דרך חשובה בשטח מניעת ההריון, וההתפתחות העצומה בשטח זה הביאה לידי ייצור גלולות, אשר תופעות הלואי שלהן מינימליות והסכנה בנטילתן קטנה ביותר (כאשר בוחרים באופן נכון את הנשים המתאימות לטיפול), יעילות הגלולות רבה ושכיחות כשלונן קרובה לאפס. מבחינה הלכתית, הגלולה עדיפה מבחינת מנגנון הפעולה שלה, ושכיחות הדימומים הבין-מחזוריים נמוכה, במיוחד בין נשים המקפידות לקחת את הגלולה כראוי, ובין נשים שלא היו להן דימומים והפרעות משמעותיות במחזור לפני הטיפול.
