ניתוח שלאחר המוות
1. Under what conditions would an autopsy be halachically permissible.2. What is the halachic laws position as far as victim of a homicide is concerned,
I am interested in finding out what if any are the halachic issues regarding testing for the BRCA1 gene.(knowing that there is a possibility of it existing in the family) First there is the decision of whether or not to have the blood test and then if the results are positive what to do about informing ones adult children. I would appreciate hearing what you have to say about this.
Many thanks.
Today we know that the information about the existence of BRCA1/2 gene can save life.
Therefore, it is advised generally to do the test.
The answer to the question “when?” is more complicated.
And one should look for genetic consultation before hand.
(In many cases, it is not advised to do the test in the teen ages).
