My 83 year old father-in-law (M) is observant. Three of his four children are charedi and might be inflexible. The fourth (and eldest), my husband, is primarily responsible for his care as the others live in different places. M is in a nursing home with advanced Parkinson's disease, Diabetes, Heart Disease, cerebral vascular disease, mild dementia, immobility, incontinence, etc.
He hasn't any real insight into his illnesses. His physician believes that resuscitation will not result in a positive outcome and have advised DNR. M lacks the insight to make a DNR decision. Should his wife and children make the decision on his behalf? Is DNR against halacha?
DNR in the strict sense of withholding life-saving disease-related measures is not against halakhah. However, there are several qualifications to this lenient position: The patient suffers from an incurable disease and is at a stage where his life expectancy is only a few months; the patient (not his family) is suffering; the patient expresses his wish not to be treated, and if incompetent — there is clear evidence that such were his wishes when he was competent; the treatment is not expected to resolve an immediate complication but rather will incraese the patient's suffering.
The particular case has to be evaluated according to these principles.

אני לאחר לידה כ – 8 חודשים. מניקה כמעט מלא. הגלולה של ההנקה גורמת לכתמים ודימומים. כמעט ולא מצליחה לטבול במקווה. א. האם השימוש בנרות
שלום רב. שאני קורא בעיתון כתבות על אנשים חולים (שבדר"כ זקוקים לתרומה), כמובן שאני תורם כמה שאני יכול אבל אני גם מתפלל עליהם לפני ריבונו
אבקש לשאול את כבוד הרב שאלה נוספת, כיצד ניתן לוודא האם הדימום נובע מהשרירנים?
