I am a General Practitioner and I have a conference that runs over the weekend including Shabbat of course.(The Shabbat component involves practical aspects of skin surgery)Am I allowed to attend to watch and listen to proceedings or not???

It is permissible to study medicine on Shabbat, as long as this study does not include actions that are prohibited according to the Shabbat laws.
On the other hand it is a smart advice to minimize this Shabbat study to the minimum.
