קורס רפואי בשבת

This is a question for Rabbi Dr. Halperin. I was a student in the summer program and I discussed with him about taking a Advanced Cardiac life support (ACLS) course on Saturday since there was no other day. He permitted . However, since then I found out that is is a course availble not on shabbat but I have to pay 400 dollars for it while the other one is free. Am I obligated to do it? Also if I can go on Staurday can a non jew pick me up to bring me there or do I have to walk there 2 hours? Thank you.
