How does halacha view BRCA testing? When should a woman consider undergoing this testing? When does she involve a rav in the process?

תשובה:

Today we know that the information about the existence of BRCA1/2 gene can save life. Therefore, it is advised generally to do the test. The answer to the question “when?” is more complicated. And one should look for genetic consultation before hand. (In many cases, it is not advised to do the test in the teen ages).
